Conference and AGM 2017

We will be holding our Conference and AGM at the Liner Hotel in Liverpool on 18th March 2017 from 10:30, arrival and welcome drinks.

The theme for this years conference is  ‘Assistive devices, hearing better with your CI’.

The main speaker who is the technical advisor to Hearing Link will be showing a range of devices to improve hearing in many different situations and there will be an opportunity for delegates to try them out and ask questions during the day.

Preston meet up

We will be meeting for lunch at the Italian Orchard Restaurant in Preston on Saturday 25th February 12:00 for 12:30. The address is :-

CICADA Christmas Lunch 2014

We will be holding out annual Christmas meal at the Westminster Hotel in Chester where private rooms have been reserved for us for drinks on arrival and the meal itself which will be in the Churchill room.

We will be meeting from 11:30 and the meal will be at 12:00.

Menu

Starters
Leek and potato soup flavoured with smoked cheese and air dried vegetable crisps

Sundried tomato, feta and olive salad with balsamic reduction dressing and garlic croutons

Sauteed button mushrooms in a cracked black pepper and brandy sauce with toasted focaccia
Main Course
Sage and thyme infused British turkey accompanied by honey glazed chipolatas, cranberry and fresh garden herb

Canal cruise

Boat trip and meal on the Leeds and Liverpool canal
Wednesday 16th October starting at 11 am.

(This trip replaces the trip ­on Saturday 18th October)

This will be a 3 hour cruise with Hotpot or Potato Pie & Red Cabbage meal, and will take you from the base at Riley Green Marina, through Withnell Fold Nature Reserve, past the old Withnell Fold paper mill, on through delightful countryside set against the stunning backdrop of the famous Hoghton Tower where James I Knighted the loin of beef Sirloin.

Carrying on to the lovely hamlet of Wheelton and Johnson Hillocks where we descend and ascend two locks before we commence the return journey.

Members may recall we had a trip from here last year which was a ‘cream tea cruise’ and was very popular.boatrestaurant

Travelling by Car/Parking:

From the South and West, at the M6 at junction 9 take the M65 exit to Burnley/Blackburn/Preston south.
At the 4th exit take the M65 to Burnley/Blackburn.
At M65 junction 3 take the A674/A675 exit to Blackburn W/Bolton.
At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Bolton Rd A675.
Destination will be on the right.
